Researcher – the teacher need not be confident that they know what is involved in skills such as written or oral communication.

Course designer – it is always possible to use a particular textbook in ESP.

Evaluator – since ESP is an area that needs collaboration with subject specialists, teachers themselves are not allowed to evaluate their students.

Material provider – teacher is involved in the selection of published material, adapting material if it is not suitable, and sometimes writing it.

Collaborator – It rarely involves cooperation in which ESP teacher finds out about the subject syllabus in an academic context or the tasks that students have to carry out in a work or business situation.
