REPORTER: Mr. President, the Russians are reported to be saying that North Vietnam might be willing to start negotiations if there is another cessation of U.S. bombing. Do you credit these reports? And if so, are there any plans for another temporary halt of the bombing?

USA PRESIDENT: I don't know where the reports are. I haven't seen them and we hear a lot of reports but as far as I'm aware, there's nothing official about them. I expect some newspaperman is speculating.
