Assim como no Brasil, cada lugar tem uma forma de falar o português, a língua inglesa tem diferentes sotaques em inglês, ou accents, muito variados dependendo do país, da região ou da cultura do lugar.

Temos em nossa cultura muita influência vinda dos Estados Unidos, como músicas, filmes, séries, etc. Isso faz com que nossos ouvidos estejam mais acostumados com a forma que eles falam por lá. O “American Accent” acaba sendo o mais comum para nós. Os diferentes sotaques em inglês podem ser uma dificuldade para quem quer aprender inglês, mas na verdade eles são parte integrante do aprendizado e aprender a ouvilos pode ser um exercício muito divertido! Ao ouvirmos uma pessoa falando com um sotaque Britânico, por exemplo, pode levar um certo tempo para nos acostumarmos com a pronúncia e forma que eles se expressam. E não há só o sotaque americano e o britânico, há inúmeros “accents” ao redor do mundo.
