''The strategic treatment of obesity has undergone deep changes in recent years. The so-called ancillary therapy has evolved in many ways. The nutritional treatment currently recommended based more on planning nutritional education than in traditional diets, which often failed to maintain weight loss. lt's emphasized more the importance of physical activity, with an intensity that should vary according to the fitness of each individual. The techniques of cognitive behavioral therapy were significantly improved, now contributing more effectively to the changing habits of overweight patients.

The rational use of anti-obesity agents is actually considered an essential adjunct to a large number of obese patients, when there is a significant risk to health. The definition of criteria for its use has been a major concern of those responsible for drafting the consensus documents, which have been used as a reference guide for the clinicai approach to obese patients."
